Terms of Service
Effective: August 7, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Monet mobile application, website, cards, payment features, digital asset features, referral features, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to Monet's Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, able to enter a binding agreement, and located in a jurisdiction where Monet supports the Service. We may require identity verification, sanctions screening, fraud review, and additional information before you can use some or all features.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for your account credentials, devices, passcodes, wallet keys, and all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information, keep it updated, and notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Money Movement and Digital Dollars
Monet lets eligible users receive, hold, send, convert, and spend supported balances. Funds may be held as USDC, a digital dollar issued by Circle and backed 1:1 by cash and short-duration U.S. Treasury reserves. USDC is not a bank deposit and is not insured by the FDIC or any government agency. The value of digital assets can fluctuate, and blockchain transactions may be irreversible.
4. Cards and Spending
Monet does not currently offer a card. We plan to offer card spending through a licensed card-issuing partner, subject to approval and availability. If and when a Monet card launches, these Terms will be updated to identify the issuer before any card is issued, and card access, transaction approval, settlement timing, disputes, refunds, and limits will depend on the issuing partner, the card network, merchants, compliance review, and your account standing. Until launch, any reference to a Monet card in our materials describes a planned feature that is not yet available.
5. Bank Rails and Transfers
Supported local rails may include ACH, wire, Faster Payments, SEPA, Pix, SPEI, Bre-B, or other methods depending on country, provider availability, and regulatory eligibility. Transfer timing, exchange rates, availability, reversibility, and limits may vary. We may delay, reject, reverse, or require extra verification for transfers that present compliance, fraud, security, or operational risk.
6. Accounts, Deposit Details, and How Your Funds Are Held
Where available, Monet provides deposit details — such as an account and routing number, or an IBAN — that you can give to a payer to receive money. These details are provided through our partners. For U.S. dollar accounts, details are issued through Bridge Building, Inc., with funds held at Lead Bank, Member FDIC. Identity verification is required before deposit details are issued to you, and the availability of any rail, currency, or account type depends on your verification status, your region, and our partners.
Today, deposit details are issued to you individually in your own name. Monet does not currently receive user deposits into accounts held in Monet's name. If we introduce rails in the future where incoming payments are received through an account held in Monet's name, the funds in any such account will be held for the benefit of our users and will not be Monet's property, will not be used for our operating expenses, and will not be lent out; we will maintain records attributing each incoming payment to the user it belongs to — including the amount, currency, sender information reported to us, and the time it was received — and these Terms will be updated before any such rail goes live. Your balance in the Monet app reflects our records.
Incoming payments are matched to your account using the details supplied by the sender. If a payment cannot be matched — for example, because the sender is unknown to us, the name does not match your verified identity, or required information is missing — we may hold it pending review, ask you or the sender for more information, or return it to the sender. Some partners return unmatched payments automatically after a set period. We will not credit a payment to your account until we can attribute it to you.
Funds held with a partner are subject to that partner's terms, controls, and regulatory obligations, and may be delayed or frozen where required by law or by that partner's compliance processes. Amounts held as digital dollars are governed by Section 3. Nothing in this Section makes Monet a bank, and balances held with Monet are not FDIC-insured unless expressly stated for a specific product and provider.
7. Fees and Exchange Rates
Monet may show fees, spreads, and estimates before you confirm a transaction. Third parties, banks, networks, merchants, or wallet providers may charge additional fees. Exchange rates can update in real time and may differ from estimates shown before confirmation.
8. Referral Rewards
Referral rewards, if available, are funded by Monet and may change, pause, or end at any time. Rewards are single-level only: you may earn from users you directly refer, not from downstream referrals. Rewards may be withheld or reversed for fraud, abuse, returned transactions, ineligible accounts, or policy violations.
9. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Service for illegal activity, fraud, sanctions evasion, money laundering, terrorist financing, illegal gambling, trafficking, scams, unauthorized financial services, market manipulation, evasion of limits, abuse of referrals, or activity that violates card network, bank, payment processor, or blockchain provider rules.
10. Compliance, Limits, and Account Restrictions
We may monitor transactions, request information, file reports, place holds, restrict features, freeze an account, close an account, or decline activity when required by law or when we believe it is necessary to protect Monet, users, partners, or the financial system.
11. Third-Party Services
The Service may rely on third parties including banking providers, card issuers, payment networks, identity providers, wallet infrastructure, blockchain networks, analytics providers, and support vendors. Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, outages, limits, fees, and eligibility requirements.
12. No Investment, Tax, or Legal Advice
Monet does not provide investment, tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. Any information in the Service is for general product use and account management. You are responsible for determining the tax consequences of your activity, including rewards, digital asset transactions, and transfers.
13. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you authorize us and our providers to process your information for account setup, identity verification, fraud prevention, compliance, transaction processing, support, analytics, and product operation.
14. Account Closure
You may request account closure by contacting support. We may close or restrict your account for violation of these Terms, risk, inactivity, legal requirements, provider requirements, or discontinued support. Remaining eligible balances may be returned, transferred, or converted subject to law, provider rules, fees, and compliance review.
15. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the app, website, email, or another reasonable method. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Monet does not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, provider availability, transaction approval, exchange-rate availability, or blockchain settlement. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Monet is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
18. Refunds and Cancellations for Card-Funded Purchases
Merchant of record. Monet Holdings Group, Inc. is the merchant of record for purchases funded with a card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay in the Monet app. That means Monet — not our payment processors — is responsible to you for these purchases, including handling complaints, refunds, erroneous charges, and chargebacks as described below. Our third-party payment processors act solely as payment processors on our behalf.
When you fund a purchase of digital dollars (USDC) with a card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, you are buying USDC delivered to your own self-custody wallet. The total charge, including any processing fees, is shown before you confirm.
Before delivery. You may cancel a purchase at any time before the card charge is submitted. If a purchase fails, is declined, or cannot be delivered to your wallet for any reason, the full charge is voided or refunded to your original payment method.
After delivery. Once USDC has been delivered to your wallet on-chain, the purchase is complete. Blockchain settlement is irreversible, so delivered digital assets cannot be returned or exchanged; you remain free to withdraw, transfer, or convert them at any time.
Errors and unauthorized charges. If you believe you were charged the wrong amount, charged twice, or did not authorize a charge, contact [email protected] and we will investigate promptly and cooperate fully with your card issuer's dispute process. Unauthorized transactions can also be reported directly to your card issuer.
Timing. Card payments are processed by our licensed payment processors as merchant of record; approved refunds are issued through the same processor to your original payment method and typically arrive within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
